In a FB group I am a part of, one of the get to know you questions recently was “Who was president when you were born?”. This got me to thinking about how the times that we are in always seem like the “WORST” ever. Lyndon B Johnson was president when I was born and it was an election year. The Year Nixon was elected.
One of the most traumatic election years ever! Far worse than the one we are experiencing! This time around non of the candidates were murdered and non of the rallies or conventions were as violent as the DNC was in 1968.
We seem to easily forget history, we seem to easily forget that often times seem hopeless and dark. That the season will pass and we will carry on. We seem to forget the sovereignty of a mighty God that will carry us through. Where is your hope, your focus? You will be consumed by where your focus lies, focus on Christ. This is a reminder for the believer, for myself. This is not our home, this will all fade away.
Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.
