I wanted to take some time to introduce you to one of my Sweet friends and show you some of the lovely items from her Etsy Shop. I know that we are heading into warmer months but she will also be adding some spring hats and thinner necklace style knits as well. I have several and I mean several of her items and she does an awesome job! You can tell that there is a little extra love stitched in to every item! 😉
I have known Andrea since we were in elementary school and grew up together in our church family. She has always been one of the sweetest people I know and it is such a blessing to call her friend! So go check her cute little ole shop out and maybe even give it a big ole heart 😉
Andrea, can you tell me about the name of your shop ~ “Ray Of Love”
My shop is named after my father & not only the unconditional love he always had for us but also the great gift he gave me of knowing the unconditional love of God.
Where did you learn to crochet?
My grandmother taught me to crochet at about age 6 and my mother carried on the crafting tradition teaching me to knit in my teens.
What do you like to make the most?
I am a yarn addict! Always looking forward to starting the next project to see “how it works up” Knitting is my passion but also love to take a break to put together a quilt or crochet a baby blanket or baby bins!
What’s in your bag?
In my bag I always have with me you will always find some yarn – maybe not always a knitting needle but in a pinch I have even knit with two pencils!
I know you have had some struggles with infertility and have been considering adoption, can you tell us a little about those struggles?
My husband & I married later in life and we have a daughter almost 22 and would love to start a “forty something” family. The costs of adoption are so daunting and while we both have very rewarding jobs that allow us to make a difference in peoples lives – I am a hairstylist & he is a firefighter and painting contractor – but it doesn’t allow all the expenses that unfortunately come along with giving a child a family.
My husband Tom & I were both very fortunate to have been raised in wonderful loving Christian homes and we want so much to be able to pass along our family values & love of each other and God to a family.
What keeps you grounded and able to keep it all in perspective? You are always so joyful and positive, where does that come from?
My storefront contains the words Knit, Purl, Pray, Love. I knit & purl because its my passion. I pray constantly in a conversation with God as my faith is foundation for the rest of my life. I love unconditionally because that is how I was taught love. I live by the understanding of Jeremiah 29:11.
Jeremiah 29:11 (New King James Version)
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
One lucky person is going to win a special spring surprise from her etsy shop just for leaving a comment.
